LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Janice Lynne Smallwood, 61, of McKee, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at her residence.
She was born June 17, 1952, in Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late Theodore Gilbert and the late Charlotte Beatrice House.
She was a homemaker and a member of Harvest Time Tabernacle where she had been a Sunday School teacher.
She is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jason Sweet.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Wayne Smallwood Wombles of McKee; five children, Boyce Dean Bennett (Joanna Hamilton), Delilah Sweet (James Cawood), and Heather Sweet (Jeremy), all of London, David Lee Bennett (Ashley) of Science Hill, Ky., and Leatha Anderson (James) of Corbin; one brother, Jeffrey Marcum of London; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, plus a host of adoptive children and grandchildren and other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8 at New Beginnings Worship Center with Phillip Proffitt, Ellis Pennington and Curtis Neal officiating. Burial followed in the Valley of Hope Cemetery at McKee.
Pallbearers were Boyce Bennett, David Lee Bennett, Joshua Estep, Joseph Wombles, James Anderson, Thomas Philpot and Isaiah Bennett.
Bowling Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
