LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Garland E. Johnson, 76, of London, Ky., passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Carlisle Manor Nursing Home in Carlisle, Ohio.
Born Friday, July 3, 1936, in West Liberty, Ky., he was the son of the late Boyd and Hazel Patrick Johnson.
He was the widower of Wanda Jean Smallwood Johnson, who preceded him in death on October 26, 2012.
Garland was an owner of a machine shop, for many years, that assisted with sawmills in the area. He attended London Community Church.
Garland leaves behind one daughter, Sheri Johnson Moyer (Norman) of Farmersville, Ohio; two step-sons, Mike Bates (Patti) of Milford, Ohio and Tim Bates (Dawn) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one step-daughter, Donna Walsh (Frank) of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Chalmer Johnson (Lois) of Dayton, Ohio and Roger Johnson of Malone, Kentucky; one sister, Bernice Potter (Raymond) of Malone, Ky.; one granddaughter, Allie Moyer of Farmersville, Ohio; five step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Neva Jewell Johnson.
Visitation took place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26 at the funeral home, with Bro. Delmar Gross officiating the service.
Burial will follow Double Springs Cemetery.
