Ruby Cox

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Ruby Cox, 80, of West Main Street, Ewing, Ill., and formerly of Laurel County, Ky., passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Mo.

She was born Dec. 27, 1933 in Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late Cornelius and Myrtle Davis Smith.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Cox; a daughter, Kimberly Jo Cox; a sister, Geraldine Lanham; and three brothers, Carl Lanham, Elmer Lanham, and Wayne Lanham.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Lynn Marvel of Thompsonville, Ill., and Rhonda Williams of Olympia, Wash.; two sons, Denver Cox, of Ewing, Ill., and Joseph Alan Cox of St. Augustine, Fla.; twp sisters, Bobbie Lee Marcum of Texas, and Rachel Lanham Proffitt, of Corbin; a brother, Herman Lanham, Hattiesburg, Miss.; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial for Ruby Cox will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15  at Locust Grove Cemetery with Brother Larry Paul Roark officiating.

There will be no visitation.

London Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
