LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Billie Jean Leek was born in London, Ky., on February 18, 1931 and passed away at her home in Verona, Ky., on March 9, 2013 at the age of 82.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Everett and Mae Edwards Black.
Billie Jean was united in marriage with Walter Clifford Leek on April 20, 1956 who preceded his wife in death on March 12, 1997.
Mrs. Leek is survived by her loving children, daughters, Karen Leek, of Verona and Marsha Ross and husband, Bill, of Walton; son, Tony Leek and wife, Debbie, of Verona; stepdaughters, Vicky Stegg and husband, Lee, of Batavia, Ohio and Trixie Doll and husband, Randy, of Turner Station; nine grandchildren, Julie and Houston Rea, Billy and Ryanne Ross, Jill Ross, Candi Leek, Travis Leek, Chris Tyo, Brandy Doll, Heather and John Dickerson, and Cody Doll; eight great-grandchildren, Isaiah Rea, Conner Barnett, Cooper Ross, Jordyn Ross, Treyton Rabourne, Milee Dickerson, Ezra Tyo, and Hunter Barnett (deceased). Many other relatives and friends are left mourning her death.
Two brothers, Danny Edward Black and Paul Raymond Black, and one half brother, Charles Robert “Junior” Bowling preceded her in death.
A member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, Billie was a secretary for many years for B & B Heating and Air Conditioning and Imperial Heating and Air Conditioning.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, March 13, at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton - Verona Road, Verona, Ky.
Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
Visitation was at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Banklick Baptist Church, 10719 Banklick Pike, Walton, Ky., 41094.
