LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Ronnie Keith Bales, 68, of London, Ky., passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at his residence.
Born on Aug. 21, 1945 in Laurel County, Ky., he was the son of Beatrice Owens Bales of London and the late Ronald Bales.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer and a member of the Locust Grove Christian Church. He served in the National Guard for seven years; was the fire chief at Keavy Volunteer Fire Department; former president and treasurer of Locust Grove Cemetery Committee; and president of Laurel County Firemen Alliance.
He was survived by his mother; his wife, Gail Bales of London; his daughter, Cindy (Paul) Rader of Manchester; son, Michael Bales of Keavy; brothers, Harold (Carolyn) Bales and Richard (Laura) Bales, both of London; and his mother-in-law Joyce Willis of Keavy.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Hale and Don Storm officiating.
Burial followed in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keavy firemen.
Visitation was held on Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Tri County Hospice or the Keavy Volunteer Fire Department.
