Alfred Wilson

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Alfred Wilson, 89, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.

He was born June 19, 1924 in Clay County, Ky., the son of the late Alfred and Hettie Bond Wilson.

He was the former owner of Laurel Elec-Troll; was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 144, a veteran and P.O.W. of World War II, and a member of First Baptist Church of East Bernstadt.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Mullins Wilson; three sons, Douglas David Wilson and wife Maxine of Clinton, Tenn., Darrel Ray Wilson and wife Roxanne of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ronald Kevin Wilson and wife, Greta of Cox’s Creek, Ky. He is also survived by two sisters, Reba Robbins of Goshen, Ohio, and Grace Vaughn and husband Jim of West Chester, Ohio; a brother, Ralph Wilson and wife Geneva of Lake Wales, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Lois Hays and husband Leonard of Berea, Ky., and Margie Mullins also of Berea; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; plus a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Barry Wilson; four brothers, Burchel, Harvey, David, and Vernon; and a sister, Beulah Ward.

Visitation was in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 6 p.m. to the funeral hour of 8 p.m.

Burial will follow at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 23 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Lily, Ky.

Military honors were by the local DAV.

Honorary pallbearers were the Men’s Bible Class at East Bernstadt Baptist Church.
