LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Edward Kelly, 79, Zachary Lane, London, Ky., passed away Monday, July 16, 2012, at Saint Joseph London.
Born Sept. 27, 1932 in Sassafras, Ky., he was the son of the late David and Luna Cornett Kelly. He was an engineer for Cincinnati Gas and Electric, an Army veteran of the Korean War and affiliated with the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Luna Kelly; and three brothers, Earl Kelly, Jesse Kelly and Ledford Kelly.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Josephine (Noble) Fugate Kelly, London; four sons, Vadas Kelly, Ohio, Michael Kelly, Walton, Ky., Randall Fugate and Gregory Fugate, both of London; four daughters, Anita Fugate, Janet Evens, Treva Combs and Virginia Fugate Stuber, all of London; four brothers, Everett Kelly, Lyons, Ga., Bruce Kelly, Hindman, Ky., Jim Kelly, Hazard, Ky., and James Kelly, Union, Ky.; a sister, Annie Blair, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19 in the chapel of London Funeral Home with Kevin Roach and Randall Fugate officiating. Burial followed in Locust Grove Cemetery, Laurel County.
Pallbearers were Sean Evans, Trae Stuber, Michael Kelly, Vadas Kelly, Wesley Fugate, Corey Fugate, Taylor Combs, Austin Combs, Matthew Smith and Greg Hacker.
Honorary pallbearers were Christian Fugate and James Fugate.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
