Gene L. Blair


Gene L. Blair, 80, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013.

He was born Dec. 19, 1932, the son of the late Troy and Myrtle Blair.

He was a self-employed welder and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ula Jean Lawson; and a son, Garvin Lee Blair.

He is survived by five children, Michael Wayne Blair, Jeffrey Alan Blair and Diana Lynn Snyder all of East Bernstadt, Curtis Wade Blair and Sandra Jean Blair, both  of London; four brothers, Eugene Blair of London, Tommy Blair of East Bernstadt, Waldon Blair and Jimmy Blair, both of Florida; four sisters, Edna Strunk of Ohio, Brenda Robinson of East Bernstadt, Francis Brown of London, and Dora Belle; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 11 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Mike Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsburg Cemetery, Laurel County.

The family received friends at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.
