Jimmy Thompson

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Jimmy Thompson, 71, Ky. 490, East Bernstadt, Ky., passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his residence.

Born July 5, 1941 in Clay County, Ky., he was the son of the late Charlie and Mabel Wagers Thompson. He was a self-employed truck driver, and member of East Bernstadt Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney Thompson; a granddaughter, Heather Renee Thompson; two brothers, Milton and Charlie Thompson Jr.; and a nephew, Calvin Thompson.

Survivors include his wife,  Janie Bowling Thompson, of East Bernstadt; a son, Randall Thompson and wife Lynn, of East Bernstadt; a granddaughter, Tiffany Thompson and a great-granddaughter, Kiera Thompson, both of East Bernstadt; three brothers, Merl Thompson and Harold Wayne Thompson, both of East Bernstadt, and Harvey Thompson, London; and a sister, Pauletta Bowling, of  East Bernstadt.

Funeral services for Jimmy Thompson were conducted at  1 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at East Bernstadt Church of God with Eric Richardson and Charlie Helton officiating.

Burial followed at Litton Cemetery, East Bernstadt.

Pallbearers were Dewey Bowling, Lowell Bowling, Woody Bowling, Larry Bowling, Lonnie Bowling, Scottie Bowling, Zack Bowling and David Bowling.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Monday, March 4 and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour  on Tuesday at the East Bernstadt Church of God.
