Ethelena Smith

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Ethelena Smith, 69, of London, Ky.,  passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at her residence. 

Born Feb.  27, 1944, in Clay County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late James and Laura Sizemore Smith. 

She was a retired employee of Lord Label Printing Company in Cincinnati and was of the Baptist faith. She loved to garden and loved her flowers.

Survivors include her husband, Alton Smith of London; two children, Rhonda McKnight (Richard) of Lexington and Paul Wagers (Tina) of London; three sisters, Mary Ann Wagers of Goose Rock, Deloris Sizemore of London, and Dora Jean Holland of Red Bird; one brother, Henry Smith of Hyden; three grandchildren, Alesha Wagers, Anthony Scott Wagers and Jennifer Smith; four great-grandchildren,  Brayden Shiloh Smith, Dominik and Kendon Dmytrusz, and Logan Segraves; plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Hershel Wagers; two children, Christopher and Jason Scott Wagers; and five siblings, Noel, Geneva, Edna and Rufus Smith, and Carol Dean Wagers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 21 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with David Thomas officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery, Laurel County.

The family received friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
