LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Sophia Deaton, 85, London, Ky., passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012.
Born May 6, 1926 in Harlan County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Sybill Morelock Cloud. She was a retired employee of CTA Accoustics.
She was united in marriage to Sherman Deaton who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Deaton; and the following siblings, Vance Cloud, Redella Cloud, Evelyn Bryant, Eileen Franklin and Vida Hartsock; a grandchild, Sophia Frances Miracle; and a great-grandchild, Nicholas Zeo.
Mrs. Deaton is survived by two sons, Dell (Jeannia) Zeo, East Bernstadt, and Paul Deaton, London; a daughter, Velma (Buddy) Boswell, Lily; a brother, Rex Cloud, Black Mountain, N.C.; a sister, Oleta Moore, Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, James Zeo and Marlena Hibbard; three great-grandchildren, James Dean Zeo, McKenna and Ella Hibbard; and caregiver, Teresa Simpson; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Cloud and Carl Gilliam officiating.
Burial will follow in Lincks Cemetery, Manchester.
Pallbearers will be Loman Deaton, Coleman Deaton, Woody Deaton, Carl Gilliam, Richard Boswell and Daniel Hibbard.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
