Beverly June Griffith

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Beverly June Griffith of Marietta, Ga., passed away on September 25, 2012.

She was born March 16, 1929, in Gloversville, N.Y.  She was the daughter of Albert Lee Scarbrough and Mae Scarbrough, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lynn Ferguson of California, Michelle Armstrong of Nevada, and Edith (Sean) Sutton of Georgia;  her three grandchildren, Trish (Jason) Carballar,  Weslee (Shino) Ferguson, and Sierra Sutton; and four great grandchildren, Shinji, Weston, Sutton and Yukiko; and her trusted companion, her Chinese crested dog, Tilly.

Beverly was a long time resident of Georgia but spent many years traveling the world.  Her love of travel started at a young age as she traveled with her traveling salesman father before they settled in the Atlanta area.  She had fond memories of her childhood spending time in London, Ky., with her late grandparents, George Van Sutton and Lula Lester.

She graduated from University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in science.  She also received a degree from Emory University in respiratory therapy.   She had a love for animals, food and shopping and living life to the fullest.

Memorial services will be held at House-Rawlings Funeral Home, 510 E. 4th St., London, Ky., on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.  Viewing is at 2 p.m. and the service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Terry Gabbers officiating.   Graveside interment immediately following.
