David I. Stuart

Former NLHS Assistant Principal

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — David I. Stuart, 74, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly.  

Born on Aug. 31, 1938, in Pineville, Ky., he was the son of the late Isaac Stuart, Jr. and Katie Brown Stuart.

He was veteran of the United States Army serving from 1957 to 1959. He retired from the Laurel County Board of Education, serving as assistant principal at North Laurel High School from 1992 to 1997, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of London.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alexander Ledford Stuart; a brother, Floyd Stuart; and a sister, Doris Stuart Peace.  

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ledford Stuart of London; two sons, Lee David Stuart of London and Kyle Branson Stuart (Megan) of Jacksonville, Fa.; three grandchildren, Cayne Bossard, Ayden Stuart and Ella Stuart.  

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Terry Lester officiating.

The family received friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
