LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Ingrid Brewster, 63, of Hanahan, S.C. widow of David Carl Brewster died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in a local hospital.
Born July 17, 1948 in Perth Amboy, N.J. she was one of two children of Irving Nielsen and Aina Headvall Nielsen.
She was a graduate of Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing in Perth Amboy, N.J. and a Hospice nurse for Odyssey. She was the owner of Palmetto Travel Medicine LLC and a member of VASA Order of America.
Mrs. Brewster was a lover of the water, sailing, gardening, enjoyed nature, was a Girl Scout leader and youth leader at her former churches in Morehead and London, Ky.
Mrs. Brewster is survived by her sister, Linda “Lynn” Oliver and her husband, Richard-Kerr of Hanahan, S.C.; niece, Jessica Shah and her husband, Mayur and their two boys, Marc and Devin all of Summerville, S.C.; sister-in-law: Carol Allen and her husband, Craig of Ironton, Ohio, and their children, Laura Southers and her husband, Mike of Hebron, Ky., and Kathryn Schueren and her husband, Mike of Crawfordsville, Ind.; sister-in-law Joan Thomas and her husband, Joe of Durham, N.C., and their children, Heather Lieb and her husband, Kevin of Rochester, N.Y., Sharon Thomas of Arlington, Va., and David Thomas and his wife Kelly of Lakewood, Colo; and her dog Becky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The memorial service will be held at Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464, Saturday, May 26, at 11 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Sturh Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
