Laura Rudder Bowling

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laura Rudder Bowling, 75, London, Ky., passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.

She was born Jan. 20, 1939 in Clay County, Ky., the daughter of the late Sam and Grace Lawson Rudder.

She was a homemaker and a member of Arthur Ridge Baptist Church.

 She was united in marriage to Glen Bowling who survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Glenda Owens of Keavy, and Shirley Howell and husband Daniel of East Bernstadt; two brothers, James Rudder of London and Henry Rudder of East Bernstadt; seven sisters, Carol Brandenburg and Barbara Rudder, both of East Bernstadt, Ethel Webb, Trish Howard, Janet Brown, and Debbie Davis, all of London and Linda Greer of Corbin; five grandchildren, Grace Bowling and Roxanna Robinson of East Bernstadt, Gilford Owens of Keavy, and Chasity Bowling and Stacey Keller, both of Timber Lake, S.D.; and four great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Sam Bowling; two brothers and two sisters, Burchell and Lowell Rudder, Ruth Hammons and Anna Lee Rudder; also a grandchild, Carmen Howell.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 12 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Danny Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Murray Cemetery, East Bernstadt.

Pallbearers will be Carol Brandenburg, Gail Forbes, Shirley Howell, Sheila Webb, Crystal Wyatt, Karen Jones, Becky Rudder and Debbie Davis.

Visitation was after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
