LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Jerema Mitchel, 83, Lily, Ky., passed away, Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Baptist Health Corbin.
She was born June 17, 1930 in Lee County, Va., the daughter of the late Hansford and Cannie Fields Chester.
She was a retired medical technician for Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly and Hillcrest Nursing Home, and was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church.
She was united in marriage to James P. Mitchell who preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by four children, Bill Mitchell of Elyria, Ohio, Danny Mitchell and wife Freda of London, Delilah Roark and husband Roger of London, and Etta Jones and husband Michael of Lily, Ky.; two sisters, Elizabeth Golobich of Laraine, Ohio and Kathleen Powell of Elyria, Ohio; nine grandchildren, James William, Joshua, Christopher and Brian Mitchell, Roger Heath Roark, Heather Roark, Bradley and Scott Jones and Holly Morgan Lowe; seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Austin, Taylor and McKenzie Mitchell, Jordan and Brantlee Clay Jones and Zane Lowe, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Eric Mitchell.
Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 21 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Ronnie Mosher and Craig Thomas officiating.
Burial followed in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Lily.
Pallbearers were Toby, Brian, James and Josh Mitchell, Heath Road, and Scott and Bradley Jones.
The family received friends at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Sunday, April 20.
