LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — James W. Moren, 77, East Bernstadt, Ky., passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at Baptist Health Corbin.
He was born Feb. 28, 1937 in Laurel County, Ky., the son of the late Charles and Maymie Garland Moore.
He was a retired veteran of the United States Army and a member of the New Hope Ministries of Corbin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Albert Moren and Vernon Moren.
He was united in marriage to Kathryn Bowling Moren who survives. He is also survived by five children, Pam Moren of London, Susan Bass and husband Jason of Shelbyville, Ind., Deana Baker of Bremen, Ind., Jimmy Moren and wife Sherrie and Richard Moren and wife Lisa, both of Walkerton, Ind.; a brother, Bill Moren and wife Cathy of Greenville, S.C.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 21 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Addison and Paula Farmer officiating.
Burial followed in A.R. Dyche Memorial Park, London.
The family received friends at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Sunday, April 20.
