Betty Jean Westmoreland Fields

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Betty Jean Westmoreland Fields, 78, of East Bernstadt, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Saint Joseph London.  

Born May 3, 1934, in Harlan County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Jim and Sarah Brown Westmoreland.  She was united in marriage to Herbert David Fields, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of Philpot Chapel Baptist Church.  She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include three children,  Joyce Mounce and Timothy Lee Fields, both of East Bernstadt, and Bobby Ray Fields and wife, Jo Ann of Braidwood,  Ill.; a sister,  Helen Westmoreland of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; three brothers,  David Westmoreland of Ocala, Fla., Carl Westmoreland of Greenvich, Ohio, and Roy Westmoreland of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister,  Lillie Allen; four brothers, Donald, Kenneth, Virgil and Ray Westmoreland;  one half-sister,  Jean Reinholtz and one grandchild, Jody Ray Fields.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Durham officiating.

 Burial will follow in the Andes Cemetery at East Bernstadt.

The family  will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Saturday.
