Edna Thorpe

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Edna Thorpe, 83, of London, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the Christian Health Care Center in Corbin, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Thorpe; her parents, Taylor Sizemore and Nancy Day Sizemore; two sisters, Myrtle Smith and Lucreshie Callahan four brothers, George Sizemore, Bentley Sizemore, Chester Sizemore and Sherman Sizemore.

She is survived by three children, Ronald (Janice) Sizemore, Hamilton, Ohio, Daniel (Alice) Thorpe, and Colleen (Marvin) Johnson, both of London; a sister, Bessie Young; five grandchildren, Rhonda, Darrell, Jyll, Megan, Matthew (girlfriend Samantha); five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Jackson, Celeste and Oliver; and two step-children, Billy Thorpe and Dede Thorpe.  She was also blessed with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.  

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Brother Rob Hale and Bob Combs officiating.  

Burial followed at Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy.

The family of Edna Thorpe received friends after 6  p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
