Melissa Hope Jones Rigdon

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Melissa Hope Jones Rigdon, 37, of Richmond, Virginia and formerly of Laurel County, Kentucky passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at her residence.

Born Dec. 3, 1975 in Laurel County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Herbert Warren Jones Sr., and Carolyn Taylor Jones, London.

She was a medical assistant and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her mother; three sisters, Bridget Blair, Charity Adams, both of London, and Brandy Carter of Greenville, Tenn.; a brother, Warren Jones Jr., London; and step-father,  of Charles Werner of London.

Funeral services for Melissa Hope Jones Rigdon were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, in London Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Deaton officiating.

Burial followed in A.R. Dyche Memorial Park, London.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home after 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.

Serving as pallbearers were Tyler Jones, Travis Jackson, Tommy Martin, Rob Jones, Dennis Jones and Jay Jones.

Honorary pallbearers were Josh Blair, Jessica Blair, Alexis Jones, Haley Jones, Silas Smith and Titus Smith.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to London Funeral Home toward funeral expenses.
