Rev. Sheridan Nolan

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Rev. Sheridan Nolan, 83, of Blackwater Church Road, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his residence.

Born May 1, 1929 in Harlan County, Ky., he was son of the late Denver and Fannie Middleton Nolan.

He was a retired diesel mechanic/foreman with the Harlan County Board of Education, was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Full Truth House of Prayer, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving with the occupational troops for six years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith Hall Nolan; five sons, the Rev. Ezekiel Nolan, Sheridan Nolan Jr., Stephens Robert Nolan, Jeff Nolan and Bryan H.L. Nolan; two brothers, H.L. Nolan and Foil Nolan; and three sisters, Oplie Napier, Mossie Gross and Gladys Adkins.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kay Nolan, and Muriel Beatrice Nolan, both of London; two brothers, Bill Nolan and Melvin Nolan, both  of Harlan, Ky.; five sisters, Muriel Lambert and Barbara Ruffino, both of North Carolina, Maudie Younts, of Somerset, Margaret Cornn, of Harrison, Ind., and Vilva Nolan, Harlan, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Rev. Sheridan Nolan will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Full Truth House of Prayer Church at Blackwater with Lonnie Napier, Bow Cornn, and Denver Nolan officiating.

Burial will follow at Nolan Cemetery with the local D.A.V. in charge of military honors.

The family will receive friends at Full Truth House of Prayer Church from 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, until the funeral hour on Thursday.

London Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
