Ashley Nicole Slone

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Ashley Nicole Slone, 21, of London, Ky., passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2012 in Clay County, Ky.,  as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

Born in Lexington, Ky., Ashley was the daughter of Cindy Mitchell Garland and Charles Garland of London, and was preceded in death by her biological father, Timothy Slone. 

She had graduated in 2009 from South Laurel High School where she had been a cheerleader.  She obtained an associate degree from Somerset Community College in early childhood education, and was continuing her education at Eastern Kentucky University. 

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her fiancée, Tyler Weaver of London; a sister, Tiffany Slone of London; three half sisters, Haley, Brandy, and Madison Slone, all of Lexington; a half brother, Landon Slone of Lexington; her grandparents, Martha Garland of Barbourville, Bessie Slone of Lexington, and Gary and Kathy Mitchell of Lexington; and numerous cousins and friends. 

Funeral services were conducted  at 3 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, Ky., with the Rev. Dale Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation was from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. 

Memorials are suggested to charities which may benefit children.
