Wanda Jean Johnson

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Wanda Jean Johnson, 75, of London, Ky., formerly of Waynesburg, Ky., passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Va.

Born Nov. 24, 1936 in Lincoln County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Joda Smallwood Sr. and Mabel Moore Smallwood.

She was a homemaker.

Jean leaves behind her loving husband, Garland Johnson of London; two sons, Mike (Patti) Bates of Milford, Ohio and Tim  (Daen) Bates of Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter, Donna (Frank) Walsh of Alexandria, Va.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Smallwood of Waynesburg, Ky.; two sister-in-laws, Phyllis and Betty Smallwood both of Waynesburg; and one brother-in-law, Jim Howard of Somerset.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joda “Bert” Smallwood Jr. and Billy Joe Smallwood; and a sister, Carrie “Sis” Howard.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Nov. 2, at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Brother Delmar Gross officiating.

Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home, Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Waynesburg, Ky.
