Sallie Cheek

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Sallie Cheek, 97, of London, Ky., passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at her residence. 

She leaves behind eight children, Naomi Vires of Hamilton, Ohio, Omia Lee Hickman of Hamilton, Ohio, Delford Cheek and wife Bernice of Hamilton, Ohio, Denver Cheek and wife Brenda of Indianapolis, Ind., Don Cheek of London, Albert Glenn Cheek and wife Darlene of Richmond, Ind., Wanda Kay Hunt and husband Larry of Las Vegas, Nev.,  and Patricia Lawson and husband Tommy of London; two sisters, Nancy Nice and Marie King; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Cheek; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Cheek; two sons, Norman Paul Cheek and Roger Cheek; parents, DeWitt Gregory and Celia Ann Tuttle Gregory; four sisters; and one brother. 

Funeral service for Sallie Cheek was conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30 in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Kevin Cheek and Jeffery Jackson officiating. 

Burial followed at Cheek Cemetery in Laurel County.

The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
