Silas McHargue

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Silas McHargue, 72, Roy McHargue Road, Lily, Ky., passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly in London.

A native of Laurel County, he was born Feb. 13, 1941, the son of the late Wilburn and Verna Hensley McHargue.

He was of the Baptist faith and worked at Coyne Textile.

He was united in marriage to Patty Vires McHargue of Lily. He is also survived by a son, David McHargue of Keavy; a daughter, Tammy Fiefhaus of Lily; two brothers, Hansel McHargue of Corbin, and Jerry McHargue of Lily; a sister, Elizabeth Alsip of Lily. He was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral service was conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Wright and Charles Spurlock officiating.  Burial followed in McHargue Cemetery, Lily.

Pallbearers were Silas Robert Fiefhaus, Joseph Paul Fiefhaus, Joshua David McHargue, Paul Vires Jr., Paul Vires Sr., and Kenneth Finley.

 The family received friends Sunday, from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral service hour.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to London Funeral Home toward funeral expense.
