Sherrell Glenn Cornett

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Sherrell Glenn Cornett, 66, London, Ky., passed away Friday, April 18, 2014.

Born April 11, 1948 in Barbourville, Ky., the son of the late John Sam and Wilma Jean Sasser Cornett.

He was a former employee of Caron Spinning Company and London Rotary Forms, and was a member of Fariston Christian Church and affiliated with Slate Hill Baptist Church.

He was united in marriage to Lula Sue Moore Cornett who survives.

He is also survived by two children, Mitzi Hammock and husband Jerry of London and Kevin Cornett and wife Lisa of Lancaster, Ky.;  a step daughter, Pam Hampton and husband Morris of London; two brothers, Wayne and David Cornett; two grandchildren, Jansen Hammock and Zackary Cornett; three step grandchildren, Daniel Hampton and wife Torie, Dustin Hampton and wife Brandi and Doug Hampton and wife Lyndsey; two step great-grandchildren, Madison Hampton and Kolton Hampton; and a special aunt Jean Cornett Sherman of Waverly, Ohio, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome and Jerry Cornett.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, April 23 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Homer Johnson and Greg Deaton officiating.

Burial will follow in A.R. Dyche memorial Park.

Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
