Essie Nolan

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Essie Nolan, 78, Harrod Branch Road, London, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Saint Joseph London.

Born April 23, 1934 in Leslie County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Shelby and Betty Collett Gross.

She was a homemaker and member of the Johnson Road Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lois Nolan; and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Walter Nolan of Harrod Branch Road; four daughters, Lena (Johnny) Bowling of London, Ky., Lucy Klawes of Bledsoe, Ky., Betty (Denver) Griffith of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Rose Brown of Hawesville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; eight sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services for Essie Nolan were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 in London Funeral Home chapel with Eddie Hollen officiating.

Burial followed in Brown’s Cemetery in Bledsoe, Ky.

Pallbearers were Steve Griffitts, David Kiawes, Chris Kiawes, Chris Brown, Jon Brown, Stephen Brown, Johnny Bowling and Austin Griffitts.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home from 6 until 10 p.m. on March 15.
