Carlos Rodney Laxton

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Carlos Rodney Laxton, 69, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.

He was born June 28, 1943 in Pineville, W. Va., the son of the late Robey and Estelle Sheets Laxton.

He was a retired tool and die maker with the GE Corporation and a member of the New Harvest Church.

He was united in marriage to Janice Oakley who survives. He is also survived by a son, Mark Maxey, Norwood, Ohio; five daughters, Regina Laxton and Kristy Maxey, both of London, Tonya Maxey, Norwood, Ohio, Mary Eggoff and Beverly Watkins, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Melvin Laxton, of Maryland; two sisters, Sandra Michaels, of Colorado and Alverta Roach, of Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Billy and Mitchell Oakley of London; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Laxton.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home.    

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thrusday, Feb. 14 at Bowling Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the East Colony Cemetery, Laurel County.

Pallbearers will be Josh and Steven Oakley, Daniel Asher, Cameron and Mark Maxey, and Dylan Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Perkins and Kaleb Cunningham.
