Simon Paul Dishman

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Simon Paul Dishman, 61, of London, Ky., passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Saint Joseph London.  

He was born on Sept. 29, 1950, in Wayne County, Ky., the son of the late Bob and Ellie McGinnis Dishman.  He was a heavy equipment operator for Woods Creek and a Shriner with the C.D. Ward Lodge #961.  He was affiliated with the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mollie Dishman and Fairzettia Stinson; and one brother, Andy Dishman.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Schell Dishman of London, Ky.; two sons, Simon Paul Dishman Jr. and Jeff Schell, both of London, Ky.; special grandsons, Ethan Coffey and Zachary Chambers; five brothers, Jody, Joe, Julen, Lindsey and Charlie Dishman, all of Monticello, Ky.; four sisters, Jo Ann Catron of Clinton County, Ky., and Julie Asbury, Dicie Harmon and Nancy Rains, all of Monticello, Ky.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. at the London Funeral Home.  

Buried followed in the Owsley Cemetery in London, Ky.

Pallbearers were Billy Chaney, Carl Roark, Ernie George, Randy Schott, Danny Huff and Arvin Gay.

Visitation was held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A Masonic service was also held Saturday at 7 p.m. at the C.D. Ward Lodge #961.
