LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Ernest K. Potter, 84, of London, Ky., passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital in Lexington.
He was born on February 23, 1930, in Laurel County, Ky., the son of the late Jasper and Dora Hoskins Potter.
Ernest K. Potter was retired from the United States Navy. He was a logger, farmer and of the Baptist faith. And a member of the C.D. Ward Lodge F. & A.M. No. 961.
He was united in marriage to Georgia Benge Potter, who survives.
He is also survived by two children, Joanne Kenneday and husband, Steve, of Chesapeake, Va., and Dwight Potter and wife, Kay, of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Marvin Cress officiating.
Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery at London.
Military honors will be conducted by the local DAV.
