LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Agatha Marie Begley, Granny Aggie, former owner of Crack of Dawn and Granny’s Café, will be deeply missed by family, friends and community. Her home cooking and baking was one of a kind that will leave us with memories we will always cherish.
Agatha Marie Begley, 74, of East Bernstadt, Ky., passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at St. Joseph London.
She was born Dec. 14, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leo and Rose Marlot Machuta.
She is survived by her husband, Hershel Begley; three children, Kenneth Wayne Robbins and wife, Debra, of London, Ky.; Tina Bledsoe and husband, Darrell, of East Bernstadt, and Debra Duncan and husband, Glenn, of Tazewell, Tenn.; a sister, Teresa Cloud of Frazeysburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.
She was a cook and restaurant worker and was of the Catholic faith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Travis Pressnell officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery, Laurel County.
The family received friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
