LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Michael George Brophy, 75, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2103,
He was born April 16, 1938 in Prince George County, Md., the son of the late George and Katherine Kerns Brophy.
Michael was a self employed mechanical/electrical engineer, successful business owner and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by a son, Robert Brophy of Brandon, Fla.; two daughters, Laura Katherine Breunig (Ken) of Prairie du Sac, Wisc., and Bettye Lynn Fuhs of Harlan, Iowa; three brothers, Thomas Brophy of Pensecola, Fla., Rick Brophy and David Brophy, both of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Betty Holland of Monroeville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Emily Labenz, Jason Fuhs, Keeley Johnson, Savannah and Molly Breunig; three great-grandchildren, Cameron, David and Mia.
Michael is also survived by his cousin and close friend, Carol Brophy and her daughter, Michelle (Scotty) Rucker, as well as Michelle’s children, Caitlyn and Aislinn Skiles and Tristan Rucker.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Gray.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
