Tommy Collett

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Tommy Collett, 46, of East Bernstadt, died Sunday,  Nov. 18, 2012, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  

Born on Feb. 16, 1966, in Laurel County, Ky., he was the son of the late Ford Collett and Tilda Truett Hunt.  

  He was a former steel worker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers,  Ronnie Oris Belt, Billy Ray Belt and Joe Collett.

He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Harris Collett of East Bernstadt; five children,  Ashley Marie Collett of Pikeville, Christopher Adam Collett of Prestonsburg, Tommy and Timmy Collett, both of Texas, and Travis Hurd of Lexington; five step-children,  Harold, Jeremy and Wimpy Harris, Stephanie Burkhart and Geraldine Hall, all of East Bernstadt; seven brothers,  Donnie Eugene Belt of Texas, Johnny Michael Belt of Berea, James Douglas Belt of Georgetown, Ralph Wayne Hunt of London, Willie Collett of Seattle, Washington, Ford Collett, Jr., of Barbourville, and Jobie Collett of Michigan; 10 sisters,  Jackie Lynn Tuttle, Carol Sue Roark, and Ocie Ida Mae Burkhart, all of London, Barbara Ann Belt, Tilda Leigh Smallwood, Oma Frances Opalene Kissick and Brenda Goss, all of East Bernstadt, Glenn Rose Tallant of Keavy, and Loretta Meers and Jeanetta Fugate, both of Pineville; fifteen grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Durham officiating.  

Burial followed in the Belt-Collett-Hunt Cemetery at East Bernstadt.

Visitation was held at Bowling Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the funeral hour.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bowling Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
