LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Delora May McDaniel, 74, of Dade City, Fa., and formerly of Laurel County, Ky., passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the Royal Oak Nursing Center.
She is survived by three daughters, Lynn Smith (Mike) of Dade City, Fla., Judy Sharpe (Ken) of Whitefish, Mont., and Jane Nelson (Jim) of Raleigh, N.C.; two step-sons, Steve McDaniel (Cathy) of Statesboro, Ga., and Neal McDaniel (Dino) of East Bernstadt, Ky.; one step-daughter, Cyndi McDaniel (Amy) of Hastings, Neb.; a sister, Shirley Pillow of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a brother, George Arlen Fletcher of Clinton, Mic.; 11 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McDaniel.
She graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor of arts degree, the University of Central Florida with a master of science industrial psychology degree and Eastern Kentucky University with a master of science clinical psychology degree. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Somerset, Ky., and the All Saints Lutheran Church in Lutz, Fla., and a member of Kiwanis International where she previously served as president and lieutenant governor.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Bowling Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Merkel officiating.
Burial will follow in the McDaniel Cemetery in East Bernstadt.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Kiwanis International or Royal Oaks Nursing Center in Dade City, Fla.
