Eugene Simpson

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Eugene Simpson, 64, of Jamestown, Ky., and formerly of Laurel County, Ky., passed away Saturday, Dec. 1 2012, at Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Born July 20, 1948 in Clay County, Ky., he was the son of the late Hobert Simpson and Lottie Strong Morgan. He was a self-employed botanicals.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Lucy Dunkan.

Survivors include a daughter, Nicole Brittain of Corbin; a son, Michael Simpson of Georgia; two sisters, Evelyn Ritchie of Lexington, and Irene McFarland of Emcoe, Ky.; three brothers, Robert Simpson of Erlanger, Ky., Hobert Simpson Jr. of London, and James Ray Simpson of Chillicothe, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today,  Dec. 5 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Allen Bonnell officiating.

Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
