Charles Glen Hicks

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Charles Glen Hicks, 78, Hamilton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio, with his family by his side.

He was born in London, Ky., Sept. 29, 1934.

He was a cement mason supervisor and retired from Baker Concrete Construction. Was a member of Masonic Temple, Hamilton, Ohio, Washington Lodge No. 17, and Cherry Valley Baptist Church.

On July 16, 1955 in Jellico, Tenn., he married Zella Webb. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years.

Also surviving are his children, Tobbie Ann Hicks Abner of Hamilton, Ohio, Charles Douglas Hicks and Karen Sue Hicks Thompson, both of Fairfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Nathan Thompson and Katelyn Thompson; four great-grandchildren; sisters,  Juanita (Berlin) Whitis, London, Beulah Faye (Eugene) Hinkle, and Gay Etta Foister, both of Hamilton, Ohio, Gretha (Carl) Westerfield, London, and Glida Morgan, Corbin; brother, Gary Wayne (Shirley) Hicks, Hamilton, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ollie Hicks; a sister, Jeanette Haynes; and a brother, Winford Hicks.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 8 at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, with grandson Nathan Thompson  officiating.

Burial followed in Butler County Memorial Park.
