Judith C. Nelson Gautsch

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Judith C. (Nelson) Gautsch unexpectedly arrived into heaven on December 7, 2012 - one day shy of her 72nd birthday - after a fatal fall at her home.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1940 in Victory, Ky., the daughter of Herman and Mattie Nelson.

A 20-year resident of Tucson,  Ariz., she loved to play tennis, spoil her grandchildren, socialize with friends, entertain, cook, and volunteer for her church. She immensely enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to see much of the world, including special assignment time in Lithuania and Poland.

Judy was filled with life! She was quick to smile, colorful with her wardrobe and filled with an untiring heart of gold. She did not hesitate to share her opinion but never hesitated to offer support, an encouraging word or a homemade meal.

Judy will be missed by all who came in contact with her, but especially by those who knew her well. Judy was a leader in the Devon Gables Nursing Home ministry sponsored by Christ Church United Methodist for the past 17 years with weekly devotion services and help to the elderly.

Judy especially loved Terry, her husband of nearly 50 years; their two daughters, Marnie and Marissa (Michael) and her seven grandchildren, Keaton, Carter, Callie, Emori, Clay, Alexander, and Mackenzie. She is also survived by a brother, Emery and three sisters, Orvilyne, Irene and Linda.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 655 N. Craycroft Road, Tucson, Ariz., at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14.

A reception will be held at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in honor of Judy to Christ Church. Visit www.bringfuneralhome.com
