Mary Louise Baker Lane

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Mary Louise Baker Lane, 79, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 1012, at Saint Joseph London

She was born April 18, 1933, in Leslie County, Ky.  She lived a long life filled with love and family.  She is best remembered for her kind heart, sense of humor and good cooking.  

She was preceded in death by James D. Lane, her loving husband of 51 years; her son James Earl; her father Austin Baker; mother Ethel Baker Napier; beloved sisters, Georgia Bentley and Margaret Smith; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Bentley and Tea Bishop; and ex-son-in-law, James Spurlock.  

She is survived by daughters, Jean Mattingly, Sheri Lane and Gary Gordon, Lora and Gary Byrd and sons, John Lane, David Lane and Yolanda Smith,  sisters, brothers and spouses, Imogene and Herschel Bowling, Ruby and Charlie Napier, Paul and Elsie Baker, Kathie and Steve Jordan, Silas and Rosemary Baker, sisters- and brothers-in-law, Pauline Bishop, Glen and Tammy Lane, Betty Lane and 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of loving family, friends, and dog “Sissy.”

Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Baker officiating.  

Interment will be held at a later date at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.    

Visitation was from 5 p.m. Sunday until the funeral hour.
