Mattie Chadwell

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Mattie Chadwell, 76, of London, Ky., passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly. 

She leaves behind her loving husband of over 52 years, James “T” Chadwell; three daughters, Sheila Sue Corey and husband Roger, Sherry Lynn Burns and husband Jerry, and Carol Ann Asher and husband Russ; six sisters, Wanda Nicholson, Maggie Richardson, Kay Brooks, Lynn Turner, Sharon Deaton and Gladys Gray; a brother, Denver Abner; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Corey, Devin Corey, Shawna Witt, Connor Burns, Bryson Asher, Brayden Asher and Baylee Grace Asher; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace Burns. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, General Abner and Hester Broughton Abner; and four siblings. 

Funeral service for Mattie Chadwell will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 12, in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with David Smith, Wayne House and Ronnie Ball officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Smith/Sasser Cemetery, Laurel County.

  The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, also at the funeral home.
