Six school records broken at MC meet
North Laurel competes in Madison Central track and field event

RICHMOND—Six North Laurel school track and field records were broken at the Madison Central Indian All-Comers meet on May 6.
Katie Hartney broke her school record in the shot put and discus, while Ashley Woolum set a new second record in the 100 hurdles and Meredith Johnson set a new record in the 800. Caleb Mosley also set a new boys’ record in the 110 hurdles.
The Lady Jaguars placed third in the meet, while the boys took sixth.
In the girls’ 100, Andi Skiles took sixth, Kaitlyn Harrison 14th, Amy Patton 15th, and Ashlee Chastain, 19th. Harrison and Chastain placed 15th and 16th respectively in the 200.
Johnson took second in the 800 with a time of 2:35.19, breaking her old school record of 2:39.3. Nikki Marcum took 12th in the event.
In the 1600, Johnson finished seventh and Marcum, 11th. Johnson took second in the 3200. In the 100 hurdles, Ashley Woolum captured first with a time of 16.31, breaking her old school record of 16.73. Katie Corso placed eighth. Woolum also won the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.72, and Tara Egner took 10th.
In the 4x100 relay North Laurel ‘A’ took sixth, while in the 4x200, North Laurel ‘A’ finished in fifth. North Laurel ‘A’ took fourth in the 4x400.
Andi Skiles won the long jump with a leap of 15-01.00, while Ashley Woolum took first in the triple jump at 33-10.75.
Katie Hartney won the shot put and set a new North Laurel record with a distance of 30-10.00, breaking her old record by an inch. Andi Skiles took fourth and Melissa Boyce, eighth. Hartney placed third in the discus, but set a new record at 89-7, breaking her old mark of 89-4. Boyce took seventh in the event.
In the boys’ 100, Andrew Kidd took 16th, Isaac Martinez, 17th and Trey Lovins, 18th. In the 200, Robert Melton finished 21st and Aaron Nelson, 22nd. Anthony Jones placed 11th, Isaac Martinez, 13th and Aaron Nelson, 17th, in the 400. In the 800, it was Keith Parrott in 11th, Andrew Kidd in 12th, and Anthony Jones in 14th.
Gregory Randolph placed fifth and Robert Melton, eighth, in the 1600, while Anthony Jones took 16th. In the 3200, Randolph placed third, Melton, sixth, and Jones, 13th.
Caleb Mosley took third in the 110 hurdles, setting a new NL record with a time of 16.53, breaking his old record of 16.70. Robert Melton placed sixth. Mosley took fourth and Melton seventh in the 300 hurdles.
In the 4x100 relay, North Laurel ‘A’ took sixth. Mosley placed fourth in the high jump, while in the long jump, he finished in ninth. In the triple jump, Andrew Kidd, Isaac Martinez and Keith Parrott finished 9th through 11th. Jonathon Rednour took 16th and Andrew Kidd, 17th, in the shot put.
