All-Star tourneys start Friday

Action gets underway at North Laurel, South London Little League

It’s that time of the year again. Little League All-Star tournaments get underway this Friday night with Minor League boys and girls and Little League girls taking centerstage.

Minor League Boys (9-10)

The Minor League boys Area 2 will be held at North Laurel Little League, with tonight’s games featuring Jackson Co. taking on South London 1 at 6 p.m., followed by Corbin 2 playing North Laurel Blue at 8 p.m. Saturday has North Laurel Green meeting South London 2 at 4 p.m., followed by Corbin 1 facing Clay Co. at 6 p.m.

The winner’s will meet on June 29 at 6 and 8 p.m., with the championship of the winner’s bracket taking place July 2 at 6 p.m. The first-round losers will play on June 30 at 6 and 8 p.m. and continue through July 3.

Minor League Girls (9-10)

The Minor League girls’ tournament will be contested at South London Little League, with tonight’s games featuring North Laurel battling South London 1 at 6 p.m., followed by Corbin-South London 2 at 8 p.m. Saturday has Tri-Cities battling Leslie Co. at 4 p.m. and Middlesboro facing Clay Co. at 6 p.m.

The winner’s will face each other on June 29 at 2 and 4 p.m., with the winner’s bracket finals July 2 at 6 p.m. Loser’s bracket gets underway June 30 at 6 and 8 p.m. and runs through July 3.

Little League Girls (11-12)

The Little League girls tournament will also be held at South London starting tonight was North Laurel battles Corbin at 7 p.m., followed by Leslie Co. meeting Knox Co. at 9 p.m. The winner of the North Laurel-Corbin game will face Tri-Cities on Saturday at 5 p.m. Clay Co. will meet Burnside on Saturday at 3 p.m., with that winner playing the Leslie Co.-Knox Co. winner on Sunday at 3 p.m. The winner’s bracket final is July 1 at 7 p.m. The loser’s bracket gets underway June 29 at 5 p.m. and runs through July 2.

Little League Boys (11-12)

The Little League boys Area 2 tournament will be held at Corbin starting on July 1 with North Laurel facing Jackson Co. at 6 p.m., followed by Corbin-South London at 8 p.m. The winners will play July 2 at 6 p.m. The loser’s bracket starts July 2 at 8 p.m.

10-11 year old Boys

Middlesboro will host the 10-11 year old boys’ tournament starting on July 1 as Pulaski Co. faces South London at 6 p.m., followed by Clay Co.-North Laurel at 8 p.m. The winner of the first game will take on Middlesboro on July 2 at 6 p.m., with the Clay-North winner facing Corbin on July 2 at 8 p.m. The winner’s bracket final will be July 7 at 6 p.m. The loser’s bracket starts July 3 at 6 p.m.

Junior League Boys

South London will host the Junior League boys tournament starting on July 7 with Jackson Co. facing Clay Co. at 6 p.m. followed by Hazard-North Laurel at 8 p.m.

On July 8, Corbin faces Tri-Cities at 6 p.m., with that winner taking on the Hazard-North Laurel winner on July 9 at 6 p.m. South London will face the Jackson Co.-Clay winner on July 8 at 8 p.m. The winner’s bracket final is July 11 at 6 p.m., with the loser’s bracket starting on July 9 at 8 p.m.

Senior League Boys

Corbin will host the Senior League boys tournament starting July 9 with North Laurel taking on Corbin at 6 p.m. The winner will face Hazard on July 10 at 6 p.m. The loser’s bracket starts July 11 at 6 p.m.
