Business to locate in Air Park

The surge of new businesses and expansions of existing ones continue as the year winds down.

High Power Technical Services (HPTS) recently purchased property in the Dennis Karr Air Park off Ky. 1006 and plans to construct a 3,000 square foot facility there. The building will serve as a warehousing and distribution facility and will employ eight personnel and 20 contractors.

HPTS is a regional service provider for Dish Network and has 400 employees in Kentucky. Their corporate office is based in Louisville.

The announcement was made by the London-Laurel County Industrial Development Authority last week. Charlie Pennington, executive director of the industrial authority, said, “We are excited that HPTS has chosen to make our Air Park their permanent home.”

HPTS is currently operating  out of a leased building on Bill George Road. The new building in the air park will hopefully be opened in the spring of 2014.

“London is a great place for businesses, large and small, to locate or expand,” Pennington said. “HPTS has made a great choice for their new location.”
