LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Obtaining prescription medication is believed to be the reason two white males attacked a Lily couple just after midnight Tuesday morning in the latest home invasion investigated by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place on Dogwood Lane, six miles south of London, when a woman was attacked outside her home by two men. The woman ran inside the home, followed by the two men who then began beating the woman and her husband with clubs and threatening them with guns.
The two suspects made off with prescription medication that the couple had just had filled in Chattanooga, Tenn., and took their cell phones. Both suspects disguised their faces — one was wearing a ski mask and the other had face paint on. After robbing the couple, the two fled the scene on foot.
The victims of the home invasion, both in their early 50s, had serious cuts and scratches and were treated at the scene by members of Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
Detective Charlie Loomis is continuing the investigation into the incident. Assisting at the scene of the crime were Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Sgt. Chuck Johnson, Deputy Shawn Boroviak, and Deputy Kirk Mays.
Anyone with information on the identity of the two suspects is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (606) 864-6600. Callers can remain anonymous.
