LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Six people, including three children, were injured Thursday in two separate wrecks on Ky. 312.
Black ice caused hazardous road conditions Thursday morning. At 7:17 a.m., the Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Ky. 312, at the Laurel-Whitley county line.
Upon arrival, Trooper Ryan Loudermilk determined that Crystal Stidham, 34, of Corbin, who was driving a silver 2005 GMC Yukon, was traveling eastbound when she lost control on an icy bridge, crossed the centerline and struck a beige 2005 Toyota Camry, driven by Jonathan Patterson, 39, of Corbin.
While officers were at the scene, a silver 1995 Dodge Ram truck, driven by Billy McKeehan, 25, of Corbin, hit Stidham’s SUV after losing control on the same icy bridge.
Stidham and her three children — Halia, 12, Kaila, 9 and Alana, 6 — were taken to Baptist Health Corbin for treatment.
Patterson and McKeehan, who were alone in their vehicles, were also taken to the Corbin hospital for treatment.
No drug or alcohol usage was suspected in either crash.
Trooper Loudermilk is in charge of the investigation.
