LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A home invasion on Brannon Mill Road, eight miles south of London, early Saturday morning sent a 74-year-old victim to the hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.
The incident took place around 6:30 a.m. when two men entered a home and hit the elderly man over the head with a blunt object several times. The man was transported to the hospital for his injuries, and the hospital notified 9-1-1 Dispatch.
Deputies went to the scene as well as interviewing the victim at the hospital. The man told police the two men had taken an undisclosed amount of cash from his wallet and his 1998 grayish blue Ford Mustang.
The victim remains hospitalized at the University of Kentucky Medical Center for serious injuries to his head during the altercation with the two men and police are seeking information leading to the arrests of the two white male suspects.
The vehicle was reportedly found later along Ky. 1804 and had been set on fire.
Laurel County Sheriff’s personnel assisting at the scene and with the investigation include Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Sgt. Josh Gaylor, Deputy William Bo Harris, Deputy John Inman, Detective Charlie Loomis, and Detective Tommy Johnston. Kentucky State Police Trooper Jack Riley also assisted.
