LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
‘What could have been’ is probably a question passing through the minds of both police and three persons arrested for possessing a quantity of prescription pills on Thursday.
The drugs, estimated at a street value of $4,000, were confiscated during an investigation into drug trafficking in Laurel County. Acting immediately on a tip received Thursday morning, Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Back, Detective Brad Mitchell, Deputy James Sizemore and members of the London office of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) went to a residence on Ky. 192 within the city limits of London, around 9:45 a.m.
The investigation revealed 258 Xanax and 115 Hydrocodone pills in possession of the three men. The trio were allegedly traveling from Michigan with the pills with intentions of selling them.
Timothy J. Storms, 26, of Cobblestone Way in Corbin, 19-year-old Moreta Miguel Fernandez of Gartner Street in Detroit, Mich., and 21-year-old Mark Jeffrey of Dean Hundley Road in East Bernstadt were all charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense.
They were lodged in Laurel County Detention Center following their arrests.
