LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
An investigation into illegal drug trafficking resulted in the confiscation of various drugs and firearms on Wednesday night.
Laurel County Sheriff’s Detectives and deputies hit the motherlode at a residence on Dean Hundley Road, five miles north of London, when they executed a search warrant just before 9 p.m.
Milford Allen Jr., 48, of Dean Hundley Road in East Bernstadt, now faces charges of trafficking in marijuana, two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Detectives Brad Mitchell and Jason Back led the investigation in which sheriff’s officials located a large amount of processed vacuum sealed packages of marijuana estimated to be approximately three pounds, a quantity of Xanax and Hydrocodone pills, 13 rifles, 17 pistols, flat screen televisions, and more than $45,000 in cash.
Allen was on home incarceration for a 2012 conviction for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and receiving stolen firearms. In 2008, Allen was charged with cultivating more than five marijuana plants and being in possession of a firearm. Allen is a convicted felon and is not permitted to possess a firearm or have a firearm on the premises.
Even while sheriff’s officials were at Allen’s house, several individuals came to the residence. Law enforcement believe those individuals were wanting to purchase drugs.
One man who was driving under the influence was arrested when he drove up to the residence. Ryan Dean Parsley, 29, of Morentown Road in London, told police he was taking prescription pain medication. Parsley was charged with DUI and no insurance and joined Allen in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Assisting in the investigation and arrests were Sheriff John Root, Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Lt. Rodney Van Zant, Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter, and a deputy U.S. marshal.
Detectives Jason Back and Brad Mitchell are continuing the investigation.
