LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Five people were seriously injured in a two-car crash on Ky. 490 Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened at approximately 4:13 p.m.
A 1989 Chevy truck, driven by Rodney Simpson, 35, of School Street, East Bernstadt, was on Ky. 1376 preparing to turn onto Ky. 490.
According to Laurel County Sheriff's Deputy Robbie Grimes, Simpson pulled into the path of a Ford Ranger pickup, driven by Emanuel Gabbard, 30, of Swiss Lane, London.
Both vehicles were severely damaged.
A total of five people were injured, including both drivers and three passengers in Gabbard's vehicle.
Simpson was transported to Saint Joseph London for his injuries.
Emanuel Gabbard, his wife Amanda and his 9-year-old son were taken to Saint Joseph London for treatment of injuries.
Gabbard's 8-year-old daughter was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center by Air Evac.
Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Assisting at the scene was East Bernstadt Volunteer Fire Department and the London-Laurel County Rescue Squad.
