LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
MANCHESTER— Ky. 1006 (West Fifth Street) in London will be intermittently reduced to one lane between mile points 6.3-6.7 (between Houser Road and South Mill Street) beginning Monday, Feb. 18 and concluding on Tuesday, April 30.
Traffic control will be maintained by flaggers. The lane closures will be necessary to allow crews to implement safety improvements between Falls and College streets. The shoulder dropoff adjacent to the southbound lane will be eliminated, standard curb and gutter treatment will be installed and improvements will be made to the road’s drainage system.
All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
Road condition reports for District 11 routes are available by calling 511 or by visiting the 511 travel and traffic information website at http://511.ky.gov.
