New (Year's) Baby: Baby girl born at Saint Joseph London at 5:05 a.m.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Paisley Layne Jones was the first baby born at Saint Joseph London in 2013.

Paisley is the daughter of Jenna and Tanner Jones of Crab Orchard, Ky.  The couple have been married for three years.

Jenna is a fifth-grade teacher at Berea Community School and Tanner is a marketer for consultwebs.com.

Paisley is their first child.

Jenna was in labor for 11 hours starting Monday at 6 p.m. and lasting until Tuesday at 5:05 a.m. when she gave birth.

“She took her time,” Jenna said.

There were a few complications prior to her arrival. The baby’s heart rate drastically dropped, and doctors thought an emergency C-section might be necessary.  But Paisley recovered quickly and successfully came into the world, just in time to celebrate the new year.

She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

“She’s off to a good start,” Jenna said.

Paisley was one of three babies born on Jan. 1 at Saint Joseph London.  The second baby of the new year arrived more than an hour later, at 6: 14 a.m.

In 2012, the London hospital delivered 1,074 babies.
